Asad Umar at NCI oversees the PREVENT program — a major initiative supporting the development of new cancer chemoprevention agents through clinical and pre-clinical studies. His program has supported development of agents targeting COX-2, polyamine synthesis (DFMO), and other pathways in colorectal and other cancers, advancing the pipeline of pharmacological cancer prevention options.
