👥Biography 个人简介

Arlene Forastiere led the landmark RTOG 91-11 trial that established concurrent cisplatin-based chemoradiation as the standard of care for larynx preservation in locally advanced laryngeal cancer. Her research transformed head and neck oncology by demonstrating that chemotherapy combined with radiation could achieve larynx preservation rates comparable to total laryngectomy in appropriately selected patients. She has contributed to multiple cooperative group trials advancing multimodality treatment for oral cavity and oropharyngeal cancers. Her career has shaped evidence-based treatment standards for all subsites of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
