Antonio Lanzavecchia

Antonio Lanzavecchia at the IRB in Bellinzona is a pioneer of human B cell biology who developed techniques for isolating rare antigen-specific B cells and their antibodies from human donors. His methods have been used to isolate broadly neutralizing antibodies against viruses and tumor-reactive antibodies. His technology platform has contributed to the development of multiple therapeutic antibodies now in clinical use and in development for cancer.
