👥Biography 个人简介

Anthony Hyman pioneered the study of biomolecular condensates formed through liquid-liquid phase separation, demonstrating that many cellular compartments including transcriptional hubs, DNA repair foci, and signaling assemblies form through the physical chemistry of multivalent protein and RNA interactions. His conceptual framework has been applied to cancer biology, revealing that oncoproteins with intrinsically disordered regions form aberrant condensates that concentrate transcriptional machinery at oncogene super-enhancers. He has shown that phase separation governs p53 tumor suppressor assembly and that mutations disrupting p53 phase behavior can promote cancer. His work has opened new therapeutic strategies targeting condensate formation in cancer.
