Annika Lindblom

Annika Lindblom at Karolinska Institutet has made important contributions to hereditary colorectal cancer genetics, including identifying EPCAM deletions as a cause of Lynch syndrome-associated colorectal cancer through epigenetic silencing of MSH2. Her work on familial colorectal cancer not explained by Lynch syndrome has contributed to identifying additional genetic predisposition factors. She leads Swedish hereditary cancer research programs.
