Annette Stanton at UCLA is a health psychologist who has made major contributions to understanding how cancer survivors cope with the psychological challenges of cancer diagnosis and survivorship. Her research on emotional approach coping — the processing and expression of cancer-related emotions — and on benefit finding and post-traumatic growth in cancer survivors has informed psychosocial interventions that promote adaptive adjustment to cancer.
