👥Biography 个人简介

Anne Bhatt investigates lysosomal membrane permeabilization (LMP) as a cancer cell death mechanism, demonstrating how disruption of lysosomal integrity releases cathepsins and other hydrolases into the cytosol to trigger cell death pathways. Her research has revealed that cancer cells with enlarged lysosomal compartments are particularly vulnerable to LMP-inducing agents. She has characterized the role of lysosomal iron in oxidative damage and galectin-3 as a sensor of lysosomal membrane damage. Her work has identified lysosomotropic agents as a promising class of anti-cancer therapeutics that circumvent apoptosis resistance.
