Ann Boija has made pioneering contributions to understanding how small-molecule drugs selectively partition into biomolecular condensates, fundamentally altering pharmacological models of drug action. Her work demonstrated that transcriptional condensates concentrate specific drugs, explaining selective drug activity at super-enhancers. This condensate-partitioning framework has opened a new paradigm for rational drug design in oncology.
