Andrea Bhatt specializes in Hippo pathway biology in the liver, investigating its roles in liver regeneration and hepatocellular carcinoma development. Her research has demonstrated how loss of Hippo signaling drives hepatic overgrowth and tumor formation in mouse models. She has characterized YAP-driven transcriptional programs in HCC and their dependence on co-activators TEAD1-4. Her work has identified Hippo pathway components as prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets in liver cancer.
