Ana Ribas

Antoni Ribas at UCLA has been a leading researcher in melanoma immunotherapy and PD-1 resistance mechanisms. His work identifying genomic mechanisms of acquired resistance to anti-PD-1 therapy (including beta-2-microglobulin loss preventing MHC-I expression, and JAK1/2 mutations preventing IFN-gamma signaling) has been foundational for understanding why tumors escape checkpoint therapy and for designing combination strategies to prevent or overcome resistance.
