Ana Ferreira contributes to rare head and neck cancer research, including salivary gland malignancies — a heterogeneous group of rare cancers with distinct molecular subtypes including NTRK fusions targetable with larotrectinib. Research on molecular profiling and targeted therapy for rare salivary gland cancers and other rare head and neck tumors addresses important needs in these understudied malignancies.
