Ana Bhatt

Ana Bhatt investigates NTRK gene fusions in thyroid cancer and other tumor types and the clinical activity of TRK inhibitor therapy. Her research has characterized the biology of NTRK1, NTRK2, and NTRK3 fusions in thyroid cancer and identified NTRK fusions in pediatric and radiation-associated thyroid cancers. She contributed to the clinical evaluation of larotrectinib and entrectinib as histology-agnostic TRK inhibitors, demonstrating high response rates across NTRK fusion-positive cancers including thyroid carcinoma. Her work on acquired TRK inhibitor resistance mechanisms including kinase domain mutations has informed the development of next-generation TRK inhibitors.
