👥Biography 个人简介

Amato Giaccia has been a leading investigator in hypoxia biology and its implications for cancer therapy for over three decades. His laboratory identified HIF-1alpha as a central mediator of the hypoxic tumor response to radiation, and he developed multiple small-molecule hypoxic radiosensitizers. His work elucidated how hypoxic tumor cells evade radiation-induced cell death and established strategies for overcoming tumor radioresistance.
