Alexander Rudensky
PhD
Chair, Immunology Program
👥Biography 个人简介
Alexander Rudensky is one of the foremost authorities on regulatory T cells and discovered the critical role of FOXP3 as the master transcription factor for Treg lineage specification and function. His research established that FOXP3 deficiency leads to fatal multiorgan autoimmunity and that Treg cells are essential for immune self-tolerance. He has characterized the molecular mechanisms by which FOXP3 programs Treg identity and suppressive function. His work is foundational to understanding how Tregs suppress antitumor immunity and how their depletion can enhance cancer immunotherapy.
