Alex Sparreboom
PhD
Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
👥Biography 个人简介
Alex Sparreboom has made seminal contributions to understanding how drug transporters influence the pharmacokinetics and toxicity of cancer therapeutics, demonstrating that OATP1B1 and OATP1B3 transporter polymorphisms significantly alter taxane disposition and predict neutropenia risk. His research established that organic anion transporting polypeptides in the liver are critical determinants of anticancer drug clearance and that transporter genotyping can guide dose individualization. He showed that drug-drug interactions mediated by transporter inhibition are clinically significant for many oncology drugs. His pharmacokinetic research has informed FDA labeling and clinical dosing guidelines for multiple cancer therapeutics.
