Professor Alessio Ciulli is a world-leading expert in PROTAC design and structural biology of targeted protein degradation. His laboratory has solved crystal structures of PROTAC ternary complexes and used these to guide the rational design of highly selective degraders of cancer-relevant proteins including BRD4 and other bromodomain-containing proteins. His structural insights have become foundational to the PROTAC drug discovery field.
