Adam Bass has contributed to comprehensive genomic characterization of gastric cancer, including leading the TCGA stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) project that established four molecular subtypes (EBV-positive, MSI, genomically stable, CIN-enriched). This molecular framework for gastric cancer has guided biomarker development, clinical trial stratification, and understanding of treatment sensitivity across gastric cancer subtypes.
