Ian Chau is a UK GI oncologist who has led or contributed to pivotal trials across esophageal and gastric cancer. He was a UK investigator for FLOT4-AIO and CROSS, contributing European evidence on perioperative chemotherapy and neoadjuvant chemoradiation. Chau contributed to development of trastuzumab deruxtecan in HER2-positive gastric cancer through DESTINY-Gastric trials, demonstrating the ADC activity after trastuzumab progression. He chairs the ESMO GI cancer advisory committee and contributes to upper GI cancer guideline panels. Chau is also active in translational research on molecular biomarkers in upper GI cancer.
