Ralf C. Bargou is a pioneering clinician-scientist who conducted the first human studies demonstrating blinatumomab's anti-leukemia activity. His 2008 Science paper showing complete molecular remissions in ALL patients established proof-of-concept for BiTE therapy and has been cited over 6,000 times. As Chair of Translational Oncology at University of Würzburg, he bridges laboratory research with clinical application, having received the 2009 Paul-Martini Prize for outstanding clinical research and the 2016 Inventor of the Year Award. With 321 publications and 19,219 citations, Bargou exemplifies successful translation of immunotherapy concepts to patient benefit.
