Sophie Piperno-Neumann

Sophie Piperno-Neumann is one of Europe's leading experts in uveal melanoma, a rare and therapeutically challenging ocular malignancy driven by GNAQ/GNA11 mutations rather than BRAF/NRAS. She has led European uveal melanoma trials and contributed to development of tebentafusp, the first treatment demonstrating overall survival benefit in unresectable uveal melanoma through an ImmTAC (Immune mobilising monoclonal TCR Against Cancer) mechanism. Piperno-Neumann has contributed to development of liver-directed therapies for uveal melanoma metastases, including isolated hepatic perfusion and intrahepatic chemosaturation, addressing the liver as the dominant metastatic organ.
