Fergus Gleeson

Fergus Gleeson is a thoracic radiologist who has made significant contributions to lung cancer imaging, pleural mesothelioma diagnosis, and CT-guided biopsy techniques. He contributed to the UKLS (UK Lung cancer Screening) trial and Lung-RADS validation studies, and has led development of minimally invasive pleural diagnostic procedures guided by ultrasound. Gleeson has contributed to British Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society guidelines for pulmonary nodule management and has investigated liquid biopsy approaches for pleural cytology and malignancy diagnosis. His clinical leadership at Oxford encompasses interventional radiology, lung biopsy, and thoracic oncology MDT coordination.
