Piotr Rutkowski

Piotr Rutkowski is a Polish oncologist and surgical oncologist who has made significant contributions to GIST management and melanoma surgery research in Central and Eastern Europe. He led Polish GIST registry studies characterizing outcome patterns and adherence to imatinib guidelines, contributing to European evidence on GIST treatment in real-world settings. Rutkowski has contributed to understanding of acral and mucosal melanoma subtypes in European populations, which have distinct genomic profiles and treatment responses compared to cutaneous melanoma. He chairs Polish clinical guideline committees and contributes to ESMO sarcoma and melanoma guideline panels.
