Wolfgang Weber is a nuclear medicine specialist and molecular imaging expert who has made foundational contributions to PET imaging response assessment in oncology. He developed and validated PERCIST (PET Response Criteria in Solid Tumors), the quantitative PET-based response assessment framework now used in clinical trials and practice. Weber has contributed to development of PSMA-targeted PET imaging for prostate cancer staging and theranostic selection, and has investigated novel PET tracers for tumor hypoxia, proliferation (FLT), and various cancer targets. He has led molecular imaging programs at MSKCC and TU Munich.

Contributed to validation of PSMA-targeted PET imaging for biochemical recurrence staging and metastatic disease detection in prostate cancer, contributing to FDA approval data for PSMA PET tracers.
