Eric J. Sherman

Eric Sherman is a thyroid cancer medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering who has contributed to development of multiple targeted therapies for advanced thyroid cancer. He led or co-led trials of cabozantinib in medullary thyroid cancer, lenvatinib in differentiated thyroid cancer, and has been central to investigation of RET inhibitors selpercatinib and pralsetinib in RET-mutant MTC. Sherman has contributed to understanding of BRAF V600E-positive anaplastic thyroid cancer and the impressive activity of BRAF/MEK inhibitor combinations in this otherwise rapidly fatal disease. He serves on ATA guideline committees for advanced thyroid cancer management.
