👥Biography 个人简介

Catriona Maybury is a Consultant Dermatologist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London. She directs one of the UK's largest transplant-recipient skin cancer surveillance clinics. Her clinical and research focus addresses the dramatically elevated skin cancer risk in solid organ transplant recipients on long-term immunosuppression, particularly the aggressive behaviour of CSCC in this population. She has led national guidelines for skin cancer surveillance in organ transplant recipients and investigates retinoid and nicotinamide chemoprevention strategies.

🎓Key Contributions 主要贡献

CSCC in Organ Transplant Recipients

Led the UK multicentre SCOPE study characterising outcomes of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma in renal, cardiac, and liver transplant recipients, quantifying the 65-250 times elevated risk and documenting worse prognosis compared with immunocompetent patients.

Chemoprevention in High-Risk Patients

Conducted clinical trials of oral retinoids and nicotinamide for skin cancer chemoprevention in transplant recipients, demonstrating reduction in new NMSC lesions and informing international surveillance guidelines.
