Javier Martín-Broto leads the sarcoma program at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz in Madrid and is one of Europe's most active sarcoma clinical trialists. His research program encompasses novel immunotherapeutic approaches including NY-ESO-1 cancer-testis antigen-directed therapies in synovial sarcoma, neoantigen-based vaccine strategies, and immune contexture in soft tissue sarcomas. He co-leads the Spanish Sarcoma Group (GEIS) clinical trial infrastructure and has run key Phase I/II trials of emerging sarcoma agents.

Contributed clinical and translational research characterizing NY-ESO-1 expression in synovial sarcoma and co-investigator on trials of TCR-engineered T cell therapy targeting NY-ESO-1, supporting the approval of afami-cel (Adaptimmune) in this subtype.
Spanish Sarcoma Group (GEIS) Clinical Trials
Led multiple GEIS-sponsored Phase II trials evaluating novel agents including trabectedin combinations, anti-angiogenic TKIs, and immunotherapy in specific sarcoma subtypes, establishing national and international treatment evidence.
Molecular Profiling and Personalized Sarcoma Therapy
Pioneered implementation of comprehensive molecular tumor profiling platforms for sarcoma in Spain, enabling histotype-specific and mutation-driven treatment selection and informing participation in basket trials.
