Jing Chen, PhD is a Charles Howard Candler Professor at Emory University and a pioneering investigator in cancer metabolic oncology. His laboratory made fundamental contributions to understanding IDH1 and IDH2 neomorphic mutations that generate the oncometabolite 2-hydroxyglutarate (2-HG), and characterized PKM2 as a regulator linking glycolysis to transcriptional reprogramming in cancer.

Discovered that PKM2, the cancer-associated pyruvate kinase isoform, translocates to the nucleus and functions as a transcriptional coactivator, directly linking glycolytic metabolism to oncogenic gene expression.
